Kenneth E. Wilson, loving husband, father, Poppop, and friend to many, passed away at his home on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the age of 75. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen Higgins Wilson for 49 years. He was the father of Jennifer Henderson and Kelly Pier (Michael). Grandfather of Madison Henderson, Morgan Henderson, Zachary Henderson, Trace Pier and Travis Pier. Son of the late Elmer and Virginia Wilson. Brother of June Merritt. He is also survived by his first cousins, Charles Appelget (Sue), Ruth Wisniewski (John), Marvin Applegate (Barbara) and Carl Applegate (Cynthia). He was a graduate of Princeton High School in NJ. Ken was a plumbing foreman for Princeton University, a volunteer firefighter in Plainsboro, NJ, an Air Force veteran who served in the Vietnam War, and an employee of Clear Water Pools and Spa. He was a member of the Diamond Club and actively enjoyed softball, pickleball, volleyball and shuffleboard. He enjoyed being a member of the Cleary Golden Agers and participated in the Greater New Orleans Senior Olympics every year. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be at a later date in Garden of Peace located in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
